Kennedy, husband of the late Clara Crosby Kennedy, to whom he was married for 65 years died Sunday, December 26, 1999 in National Health Care Center. Born in Congaree, he was a son of the late Robert Forest Kennedy Sr. and Anna Branham Kennedy. He had been a member of Shandon Baptist Church since 1933, where he served as a Deacon, an Usher, a member of the Finance Committee and the Friendship Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Columbia Rotary Club and the Earlewood Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.

He attended public schools Lower Richland County. He and his wife owned and operated Kenndey's Florist, Inc. from 1946 until their retirement in 1988. Surviving are his son, Edward C. Kennedy and wife, Kay daughter, Lynda K.

Gore and husband, Jarvis; daughter-in-law, Marjorie B. Kennedy, all of Columbia; grandchildren, Glenda G. Queen, J. Ryan Gore, Jill C. Gore, Debra E.

Mrs. Kornegay, widow of Caleb Grainger Kornegay died Monday, December 27, 1999. Born in Bennettsville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Pierce and Douglas Mitchell Edens. She was a licensed funeral director, vice president, and co-owner of Kornegay Funeral Home. She was former president of the Camden Garden Club and a member of Bethesda Presbyterian a Church, where she was a former Bible study leader.

Born in Darlington County, he was a son of the late William Joseph and Mary Althea Bryant Lewis. He was married to the late Alice Lee Lewis. Mr. Lewis graduated from the University of South Carolina and was admitted to practice law on December 9, 1935. He was a former member of the State Highway Commission, a former member of the S.C.

House of Representatives and was elected Judge of the Fourth Judicial Circuit in 1945, serving continuously until he was elected Associate Justice of the S.C. Supreme Court Lewis was elected Chief Justice in 1975 and served until his retirement in 1984. He helped found and was an original current member of the Board of Directors of Darlington County Bank. Mr. Lewis was a founding member Darlington Rotary Club and a life long member of Swift Creek Baptist Church where he served many years as a Sunday school teacher.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Lewis Haynes of Columbia; grandchildren, Brad and Haynes of Columbia and Susan Haynes Hilton of Chapel Hill, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Jenna Haynes of Columbia. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the Men's Club.
